American Honda Motor Company, Inc. had the highest reported thefts in 2012 with 9,082. In second place was Yamaha Motor Corporation with 7,517. American Suzuki Motor Corporation (7,017); Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (4,839) and Harley Davidson, Inc. (3,755) round out the top five makes.

New Motorcycle helmets could change everything

if they could make this unobtrusive and not at all ugly on the helmet... it could do wonders for people who get rear ended.

Great idea! My only concern is that helmets are a disposable commodity to be replaced every 5 years, or after a crash. I don't see how he can keep the price point low enough when the helmets I wear are already pushing $500. I think a rear view camera mounted on the bike with a bluetooth heads up display that can be retro fitted to the helmet would be a better choice.

Edit: Or, riders should learn to set up and use their mirrors properly. I'm getting concerned that technology is becoming a replacement for good skills.
