Just something so cool about the old bikes that's for sure
When I sold the CB350/4 I was just too young to appreciate how special it was, and I needed the couple hundred bucks to help afford the Nighthawk 650
I'm just glad when I sold the Nighthawk 650 it was to someone who really appreciated it, and now Jon loves it and totally takes care of it

Wow, I'd rock that in a heartbeat! That is one good looking bike, and not overpowered for a newb like me.

Yamaha makes awesome motorcycles. The V-Max was so well-behaved until you twisted your right wrist and then it could kill you. Will never forget the one time I got to ride the V-Max. Always had a poster of this on my wall growing up so it was a childhood dream come true.

The fairings (especially around the handlebar area) are a bit much. A bit too sportbike-ish for me. I prefer the naked bikes.

I don't doubt it would be a good bike, but not really what I think I'm looking for. Too much for me to spend anyway.

Believe me, I know...
Yamaha and their cross plane engine design is cutting edge technology, superior to many other manufactures

Nice upright riding position

And nice combo of naked and sport looking, but mostly naked, kinda cool

And good reviews - http://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2013...b500f-preview/

I always really liked it, but here is the major drawback - It is only available in Japan, South-East Asia and Australia.

And I also always loved the CB1
The CB1 was actually the bike I was thinking about over the CB400SF
The CB1 was also a 400 class bike, and did come to the states until about 1990 as I recal

I like the CB1 too. Was only available here for two years.
