I haven't driven a new Mustang, so can't speak for how well it shifts. The 06 Mustang I drove had really long throws. In any case NHTSA is inverstigating the car because owners are reporting that they are unable to shift into gears at speed.

Could it just be another floor-mat issue

I have spent the morning searching, here is what I'm looking at, thoughts?
MACBOOKS
- 2.O GHz, 1GB Ram, White, 10.6 OS, 60-day warranty - $569
- 2.16 GHz, 1GB Ram, White, 10.6 OS, Superdrive, 30-day warranty - $569
- 2.4 GHz, 2 GB Ram, White, 10.6 OS, Superdrive, 30-day warranty - $679
- 2.4 GHz, 2 GB Ram, Black, 10.5 OS, Superdrive, 90-day warrranty - $599
There is no way I'll buy a used Mac from ebay or craig's list, Marc's perfectly fine working unit that no longer lives made me a bit gun shy, so I have only looked at used sites that have a warranty, and a sales force that likes to reply to all my emails

Black or white debate, white is classic Mac for sure, but for a laptop I'm totally fine with black, and interestingly in the used market, the blacks always seem like the go for more money, though not sure why, maybe fewer were made.

I go to buy, and they pull a f'ing bait and switch on me
The 2.4 GHz item is in my cart, I move forward to do address and shipping stuff and notice it says 2.0 GHz
I figure I must have screwed up so I start over, select the 2.4 machine, put it into my cart, and then proceed to put in data to buy it, and sure enough, the item now says 2.0
I email them and ask WTF???
They say, oh, the 2.4 unit sold, we have this 2.0 version now...
I say
So Ellen or Marc
Would I really see a difference between a 2.0 and a 2.4 uf they were not back to back
Are we talking like Ford versus Ferrari or would it be more like Maserati versus Ferrari

First off, the bait-and-switch would piss me off to no end. To the point where I doubt I'd buy from them. But that is just me.
I think the biggest difference you would see between the 2.0 and the 2.4 isn't necessarily the processor, but the memory. For $30 the processor jump isn't really all that much between a 2.0 and a 2.4. If you were running them side-by-side, I doubt you'd see too much of a difference. Think an S with bolt-ons compared to a stock S.
The big difference here is the memory. Going from 1GB to 2GB is huge. Memory means a lot more than processor speed nowadays, from what I've encountered.

No internal support, and no software advantages
Take a PC and start buying software and it's a way more costly option, and for a unit I would always hate
In my book, that ain't a deal...
My IT guys would take one look at it and say, get that chit out of here, you saved a few bucks and you are now all on you own, have a misserable day

They've come quite a ways. MS Security Essentials is a free anti-virus and works well. I have never purchased software for what I need since buying a PC. I use Google docs or open office instead of MS Office. Video editing is also free with Windows Live Movie Maker. YMMV as they say.
