That's gonna change for this thread... got keys to new place last night - let the cleaning, packing, unpacking, and more cleaning begin
I am actually thrilled, can't wait to get over there and clean. Tom got to see the place for the first time last night!
It's just as nice and actually a little larger than it looked when I was there before and saw it with all the other tenants stuff.
We need storage shelving for the basement, and a microwave - anyone got any cheap/good deals?

Wishing you two the very best in the new place

Ellen, I have a feeling you are going to love the new house.
I was so happy to finally get out of apartment life last year when I bought the house. No more living with elephants who lived upstairs, who seemed to walk around in weighted engineer boots and would randomly drop anvils on the floor for entertainment*
*may or may not be entirely true

I troubled as much as I got troubled while living in an apartment. Had a cop stick a gun in my face while asleep. Had people ask us to turn the music down during days in college.
Last apartment was fine except for the couple that insisted upon starting their laundry at the time I went to sleep. That stopped after I politely asked them not to. oh! and these guys liked infringing on my preferred parking spots too. Then there was the other guy that lived directly above me. Very quiet and never one to have a conversation, but then he'd come home around midnight and then work out around 1 AM. Wake up in the middle of the night to hear a treadmill upstairs. He moved soon enough and a kid with a monster pickup truck from Georgia moved in.

I never had an apartment issue with other people, or parking, and I can't even begin to count all the apartments I lived in
There were however 2 apartments that stick out in my mind, and I was so elated when I moved out of them
One was in Queens back in the early '80's, the other was on Culver Rd in Rochester
Here was the problem

After moving all the stuff in, then dealing with carrying stuff upstairs every time you got home, then moving everything back out, I swore to be on the ground floor thereafter.
Here's hoping I never have to move again.
