4 deer in the road Wednesday morning. 5 deer on the shoulder Thursday morning. 4 more on the shoulder this morning. Guess I need to park the VFR or find an alternate route to work.

Yes. When you take your car off the road for the winter, you have to turn in your plates at the DMV. They will store them for you and you can take collision coverage off your car once the plates have been turned in. I believe the DMV charges you a buck for this.

When springtime comes you have to go back to the SAME DMV office you had your plates stored at. They will give you back your custom plates.

It is how I've been doing it now for about 5 years.

My insurance (state farm) told me that I dont need to turn in my plates when I lower coverage when the car is stored.

Jake, your insurance will be able to give you the correct answer. As far as I know most insurance companies will require that you turn in your licence plates, but always helps to call your agent.

Don't care much about baseball.

Now, I know I'm getting absolutely no work done this afternoon. Listening to the Sabres season opener - they're playing today in Finland and tomorrow in Germany

I'm happy as hell - no more baseball in my house until April

I'm off to the bank and pharmacy - first time the S will have been out in over 2 weeks.

Yea Sabers play Ducks at Hartwell Arena. Game started 8 Finish time, 1 for us. one of those teams played Jokerit this week as preseason/warmup.

Aashish. How much coverage do you remove? Do you drop everything but comp? State Farm wants me to turn my plates in to drop to comp.

I'll have to check on that Rich. The first year I called my insurance saying I wanted to lower coverage as I was parking the car for the winter. I told them I was thinking of turning in the plates and they gave me the option of keeping the plates on and reduced coverage to a point where I'm paying around $100 for the 6 month period the car is stored.
