Totally cool!

First Drive: 2011 Kia Sportage SX - Turbocharging Adds Welcome Spice To This Handsome Soft-Roader
by Jeremy Korzeniewski

Make no mistake, the biggest piece of the Sportage SX pie is its engine. Kia has managed to coax 260 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) from just 2.0 liters, which is an impressive feat. Torque comes in at an equally impressive 269 pound-feet, delivered between 1,850 and 3,000 rpm. If that's not sounding all that special, consider what would happen if you could linearly double the engine size and output. Does 520 horsepower from 4.0 liters grab your attention?

FULL STORY- http://www.autoblog.com/2011/04/07/2...-drive-review/

Honestly, I cannot fathom how the CR-V can compete against this
I really think too many people buy out of brand loyalty and never take the time to see what other manufacturers are up to

260 hp and 269 lb-ft, wow, and it looks great!

Thats unkind. It was a great design when it became available in 2005 /2006. Still is the vehicle of choice for people that want reliable and dependable transportation and don't want the ambiguity that accompanies Ford or Hyundai. Never met anyone that is unhappy with their CR-V.

Time is nigh for a replacement. Now, what remains to be seen is whether Honda will butcher the new car.

2012 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG First Drive. Definitely more appealing than its BMW counter-part.

I never liked the look of it
The back side window shape is like a round peg is a square hole, it just looks wrong
The front grill shape that scoops up on both sides to the underside of the headlights looks extremely unrefined
Reliability and passion are separate
Skip is my role model on this
Was it "smart" to buy a Jeep Wrangler? Maybe not, however, it was what his "heart" wanted and he just loves it
I would rather have a vehicle I was passionate about, and have to take it in for a bit more service than to have a bland, totally reliable vehicle that gets me as excited as a toaster

Not a question of being dumb or smart. It is how much one can take. When you have bawling babies to tend to and trips to make to games, piano practice, ballet lessons OR if you work long crazy hours that also include over an hour of commuting each way then you just dont have the time to indulge your passion unless you are extremely committed to it.

Most people want their car to keep working with no issues or red flags so they can focus on the priorities they have set for themselves or speed bumps that life throws in their way.

Is the CR-V a passionate purchase, definitely not. It is a decent looker and was designed based on feedback received from the customer base. That said I'd not be surprised to see soccer moms or dads feeling very passionately about their CR-V for all it does and for its reliability.

Those bluebloods sucking the blood of the peasant class in the form of taxes and purchasing fancy cars

J/K...there are some rare cars that can be found there. Several housed within palaces and private collections. That book would be nice. A recently renovated palace that has been converted into a 5-star hotel is one place I've really wanted to visit when I next go home. They have a very rare custom built Rolls Royce on display.
