ok, so rub it in that I dont know a thing (ass from engine mount as John would say)
My mistake. But then what are Ford and Hyundai doing differently? Multi-point fuel injection as in several nozzles per cylinder?? Is that an improvement over what Honda does?
Fact still remains that Hyundai had a recall for that issue. Co-workers wife's car bogged down and went into limp mode on I-90 in peak traffic, retruning from chemo treatment for their son at Boston Childrens. Not sticking Hyundai, but just stating that I think its because of the quality of fuel.

Honestly, I have no clue about all the juicy details and technical details, I just know this direct injection thing seems to be an issue that is getting more and more attention, and, I also believe too much testing is done in a "lab" removed from the real world. I too have a great deal of suspect when it comes to the fuel being used, I mean every time I step up to the pump with the S2000 I have to have blind faith premium is in the premium tank, and the stupid pump and hose is actually giving me premium and not regular.

hey! did you read the NY Times article on Ferrari and the FF? Contains an interesting vignette on how Luca came to be with the company - a very cool story
It is 3 pages long though for those with short attention spans

As Mr. Marchionne moves to raise Fiat’s stake in Chrysler to 51 percent, he has also suggested an eventual initial public offering of Ferrari, which could compel it to start dialing up profitability.

The VQ40DE is a 4.0 L (3954 cc) variant of the VQ35DE due to a longer stroke. Bore and stroke are 95.5 × 92.0 mm.
Improvements include continuously variable valve timing, variable intake system, silent timing chain, hollow and lighter camshafts and friction reduction (microfinished surfaces, moly coated pistons). It has Nissan's direct ignition system with platinum-tipped spark plugs. It produces 265 PS (195 kW; 261 hp) to 274 PS (202 kW; 270 hp) @5600 rpm and 281 ft·lbf (381 N·m) to 291 ft·lbf (395 N·m) @4000 rpm.
It is fitted to the following vehicles:
2005–present Nissan Frontier (261 hp @5600 rpm; 281 ft·lbf (381 N·m) @4000 rpm)

So far, his instincts have paid off: All 800 FFs scheduled for production this year sold out within weeks, despite the 260,000 euro base price ($370,000) and the minimum one-year waiting period.
