Yes they can be refinished but from my experience the finish is not going to be exactly the same as factory, if that is what you want to have
when the car has antique plates on it, to take to shows, etc.

The reason it's a no-go for me was the double sided tape only install.
I'm a bolted on fan.
I've had mine taped on for 2 years now. In fact, I use it as a handle each time I open up the trunk. Not trying to sway your opinion, just saying that it's fine to tape on. Besides, the wind only pushes DOWN on it when moving, so it's never being pulled against the adhesive. Mine actually came tapped with threads and nuts, but I chose the non-screw mounting option and had it taped by the bodyshop that painted it.

Safe at speed too, mine has seen 120+ dozens of times FWIW.

Foam tape is not an issue for me!
Bolt on is drilling and destroying a perfectly good trunk lid.
Where is this absdynamics?

So cool!
I think I'll have to go see how Skip's repaint repair turned out.
If the color looks good, this is a go!

What does everyone think about buying up "spare" stuff for their S? If you are planning on keeping your S long-term, what items
would you buy and put away to have when Honda no longer makes them?
I have my original wheels, plus several spares
Floor mats would be nice, but then again the ones in the CRX-Si are 21-years old and they wash up fine
I'm not so sure I believe in buying spares

I would get the following parts (especially if i'm going to be tracking the car a lot in the future)

Front Fenders
Headlight housings

Others:

Floor mats (already need new ones!
Carpet
Honda Oil Filters (very important to me)

I also have all my stock parts in case something happens to any after market parts that are on it as of now.

I always kept a few around but never more than 3. Recently before I moved i gave some S2000 parts away. In exchange the guy gave me 6 oil filters. Add that to the 2 I already have and that gives me 8 filters. With AMSOIL synthetic I'm only changing the oil once a year, so I have 8 more years of oil filters. Pretty sweet!

I change my oil at least twice a year haha. This year it may be 3 times. Just changed it for the first time since the Dragon (~7300 miles worth on amsoil) Switched to Motul 5w-30 and the runner/valve noise I had definitely got quieter. I'll have to get up to billman in August to have him do a proper valve adjustment on my S This might mean I'll need to find a place to stay over a weekend if he'd be willing to do it on a saturday haha (contemplates PM'ing bill now... but will wait until tonight)

I have a trip up to Chicago this saturday.. Thats about 750 miles from me... so there's a good 1600-1700 miles on my new motul right off the bat haha.

btw how have you been mike?
