I NEED A TRANNY!!!
I hear you can find those pretty easily on Craigslist.
Oh, and you can probably find parts for the CRX too
Really, I do need/want a transmission for the CRX-Si
I don't want one with a million miles on it
Long long ago when I had work done an a bearing the mechanic who worked the car pulled out every other synchro
He said it was an old 240Z secret and it would allow for quicker shifts
Well, that may have been true when the cart had 50k miles on it, but ever since about 90k that theory has proved to be totally wrong
The shift from 1st to 2nd cannot be rushed, it's the slowest shift known to man, it pisses me off, I need that particular shift to be quick
And if I rush it, I get nothing but grind...

I think Ellen should find me one, and I'll pay her a finder's fee...

Still from Cone Mark's reply

Darn we should have had this deal 2 months ago when I was sitting here doing make shit work!

I am out straight right now, I have the huge project I am still working on, two other medium size projects and two small re-designs all in the pipeline.

My S payment is set for the next 3 months

Seriously though, keep checking http://thisoldhonda.org as well as ebay - people list alot of cars on my vintage site - many for parts

Ok, and you keep an ear/eye open
And for the record, I would consider a spare engine too
But the tranny is a must

well.. when I joined I never finished looking through the reference thread. and lately i've been so busy with life that i've barely been on s2ki... speaking of which... back to work! have a good one all
And for the record, back ever so long ago when we discovered this, it was because of a guy and his CR-V/Element
The owners manual of that vehicle actually describes this override in the owners manual
But nooooo, Honda never though to put it in the manual of their premium car
It's a great mod, enjoy

i do'nt have an owners manual

It's a popular site Lots of good stuff listed there. I don't charge for listings, and every once in awhile am repaid with story like how someone found the perfect car they had been looking for, or found a local buyer for their old car that otherwise would have been sent to the scrap pile

When I owned my '81 Accord 3-door I dated a girl who had a black '85 CRX-Si, and all I will say, is I loved them both equally

As soon as I got a better job I got rid of the Accord and got my '87 CRX-Si, in red of course
