Shiv - I think Pete may be referring to Nick Barbatto(??) who won an autocross championship in his S2000. I think he's moved on to a BMW now but not sure.

Mark - were Chris M and Nick B part of the same GT academy class?

Nick's twin brother, Joe also made it to the UK with GT Academy.

"BTW - I haven't heard a peep out of you about the bus? Have you been driving it at all? Post up about it as and when you have a moment."

The bus is sitting in the garage. But It runs - at least it did 2 months ago when I last tried it.

I have the horn off the steering wheel and have the headlight switch to repair.

Getting it registered may be a bit difficult. Connecticut just makes it hard on purpose. Supposedly, I have to trailer it over an hour to Wethersfield so some bureaucrat can come out of the building to verify the vehicle ID number. Get it registered? No way! Then I have to trailer it to my local DMV office for registration.

That was a great read. Especially the part about the Mustang lol. Really looking forward to seeing a track battle with its competitors. From the article it seems like this car is a winner on street and on track. The mid-range grunt reported is almost like a muscle car. Especially when considering its price point. I was genuinely expecting it to be closer to $40k or so. Hopefully cars like this and the Focus RS will push other automakers to make more good for value sporty cars. Now if someone would only make a RWD, manual, 300hp, lightweight coupe...

I think they'd be open to a RWD hatch if the market was there for it. Because these hatches are based on budget cars and the folks buying them are average folks, they stick to the FWD architecture. Who knows maybe Ferrari will take a Fiat hatch someday and decide to have it power the wrong wheels. Until then AWD where most power can be sent to the rear wheels like the STI or the TT RS are the best options.
