Styling has been vastly influenced by safety regulations so I too am in the boat where I look back at older models with fondness. But some of the new cars are very promising so I tend to overlook the form.
Im not sure an ITR would be possible today given all the safety systems that would have to be built in. Even the haloed CR came with VSA and TPMS.
Its why the older Outback was a quirky station wagon whereas the new one is more an SUV to my chagrin.
But the new MX5 and the Toyobaru twins give me hope.

Planning the last ride for tomorrow. Driving up to Lakeville for the annual VSCCA meeting. I think there will be some big changes for next year with the club going backwards in time. There seems to be a move afoot to re-emphasize pre-war and preservation classes at our race events.
Sunday, change the oil and detail the car. Probably park it for the winter, but maybe not. I've ordered some LE1605 fluid for the differential and at some point will change the differential fluid. I'm running Amsoil 75W90 and think the rear end is too noisy.
My car is still wearing the numbers from Watkins Glen (I've used it so much!). Have to pull those off.

for working the Street survival School. I've done a couple of them.
I covered the S last week. The kit car will get stored this weekend. I need to trouble shoot an electrical short in the VFR that left me stranded earlier this week. It'll get stored, after I get it fixed. Snow tires go on this weekend.

After that it did rain and the roads are still driveable. But at this point I think it is best to park it. I don't drive the car to work and it is usually dark by the time I am home and not a lot of fun going out for a drive.
We did go on a drive this Wednesday when the temps were in the 60's. I explained understeer and oversteer and told my wife what Greg and Jim Garry said I need on the car. She seemed receptive to the idea. I did not talk costs of swaybar, coilovers, wing and tires though
