It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our husband and father, John Surtees CBE.John, 83, was admitted to St Georges Hospital, London in February with an existing respiratory condition and after a short period in intensive care he passed away peacefully this afternoon. His wife, Jane and daughters, Leonora and Edwina were by his side.John was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was also one of the true greats of motorsport and continued to work tirelessly up until recently with The Henry Surtees Foundation and Buckmore Park Kart Circuit. We deeply mourn the loss of such an incredible, kind and loving man as well as celebrate his amazing life. He has set a very real example of someone who kept pushing himself at his peak and one who continued fighting until the very end.We would like to thank all the staff at St George’s Hospital and The East Surrey Hospital for their professionalism and support during this difficult time for us. Thank you also to all of those who have sent their kind messages in recent weeks.

So in an incident that happened while parked, a tour bus backed into the Subaru Outback. The car is at Harts getting a new bumper so we have a GMC Yukon rental.
Hitherto I've always disliked cars of this proportion, but I was surprised after I drove it. Sure it is big but it has technology that makes it so easy to drive it. The car detects when you may be straying from your lane given how big it is and makes adjustments to keep you within the lane. It does this rather unobtrusively. Also the seats are comfortable and the acceleration is good when you step on it. It can tow 8800 lbs and seat 9 grownup humans. The gas mileage is also decent for something that size. If I ever needed a tow vehicle I think I'll definitely keep GMC products in mind. Also JJ tells me she has had no issues driving and parallel parking this beast. And I'm impressed that this car impressed her as much.
Its too big to fit into our garage with another car so it's parked outside. Other than that what a good SUV.

Its been over 10 years since I moved to Albany and for the first ever the Governor has sent out a notice asking people to stay home. I stayed late at work and the email came around 5:30. As I was leaving around 6 PM, some of the state managers who work there also said the office is closed and not to make it in. Sent my Director an email and he confirmed that everyone in IT should stay home.
I hope everyone stays safe, warm and hydrated tomorrow. Now why did I not go buy that snowblower
