BRZ is gone. Took it to Carmax and as expected they offered me what I’d listed the car for. They’ll probably have better luck with selling it as they can ship it where there is demand. Unfortunately in our neck of the woods everyone that wanted one seems to have it already.

Felt a little sad once i signed the papers and they took off the license plates, but it had to happen. There isn’t time to take care of all these cars. And the S2000 and Civic I still wanna keep. But I had fun in this car. It had some creature comforts that I got used to like the nav and Bluetooth and great cloth seats. It wasn’t expensive to maintain either. Really would have loved to see it go to a fellow autocrosser or track guy, but I wasn’t going to wait.

That's depressing - but I guess I know it had to be done. It was a nice car.

Thanks guys. The S2000 is a much better car. But over the course of 23 months and a little over 30 days on track this car grew on me.

Its not quite as robust like the S2000 and had I owned it longer there’d be maintenance it’d need like perhaps axles, coil packs and spark plugs and an oil cooler. Hopefully it finds a good home. I’ll just have to put some of the money into the S2000 and the Si and keep them going longer.

Hope that Toyota and Subaru stick with this platform and commit to upgrades.

Would hate to lose a sporty RWD platform

Toyota has signaled that they’ll keep the 86 going.

I think the car needs some engine management updates as well as better gear ratios. That mid range torque dip is infuriating. I think they ought to give it a power bump via better engine tuning and still keep it NA while making its drivetrain stouter. As it stands the car is a good canvas on which to build a good track car. Like the S2000 it responds really well to wider tires and suspension upgrades.

Sad to see the gal go. We never got to 2jz swap it . But I think you'll start to really enjoy the Si and S2K on a whole different level with some key mods on them!

if someone hadn’t moved away to Texas we’d probably be doing that now
