Plows are out, supposed to snow into tomorrow and turn very windy with temperatures about zero.

How’s everyone doing with snow?
I went to the other side of the state on Saturday. On the way home, I had a most dicey time in the Escape. Lucky I didn't hit someone coming down a long hill, narrow road with several curves. Couldn't stop all the way down. My all weather tires are down to about 4/32. Other cars seemed to be doing much better than me.

Had about 4-5" in the driveway this morning. Supposed to get another 4-8" between now and tomorrow morning. My $100 Craigslist used snow tires that I bought 4 years ago don't grip like they used to. I don't plan to replace them this year. I won't be driving much after the 2nd week of January due to my hip replacement.

Santo Spandaro - Since he doesn't look down on us lowly MGA drivers - a friend of ours from the VSCCA.

A very nice video about him and his family.

Good luck with the hip replacement. I wish you a speedy recovery in time for next autocross season. Hoping you'll give me pointers at the SeAD event.

Probably best you replace them as that is also your tow vehicle. I've found that my Si with snows handles the snow better than JJ's old Subaru on the factory all-seasons. We replaced those with Nokian All-Weather (not all-season) tires. The Nokian tires worked very well for us and lasted a very long time.

In case you are interested, they seem to be available for the Escape: https://www.nokiantires.com/tires/pa...weather-tires/

That is a great video. I guess that explains why he seems to be getting people into Alfas and into the VSCCA.

Speaking of Alfas, did Marc C ever find an S2000 to his liking?

Are meteorologists getting in on this fake news action too now? Kept hearing how TREACHEROUS the morning commute was going to be today and it was just wet. Then the last "dusting to an inch" was six inches uptown in Troy.

I think they've been on it for a while now
