On the hunt for a good driving shoe. What are you guys wearing for solid pedal feedback? Recently picked up a pair of Goodyears. Nice shoe but the sole isn't any thinner than some conventional light sneakers I've had. There must be something in between this and an FIA certified Sparco.

Mine are similar to this, but not the pony edition.

The first Friday of the month is Helsinki cruising night held at the Malmi airport. Cruising nights are held Fridays and Saturdays during the month at different locations primarily an American car event all cars are welcome. With the exceptional weather we are having there were about 400 cars. The most I have ever seen. Just a taste of the restored, custom, rat rod, etc.

Had a call the other day from an agent asking if I would be willing to rent the Volvo out for a movie. He had seen a photo that I had posted on the MG Experience. I said "sure". He said he would advise the movie company and let me know. Shoot would be on Long Island.

Finally got around to regreasing the shifter assembly. Only took me a year to finally do it. Replaced the plastic bushings too while I was at it. They didn't look terribly worn, but the grease was definitely old.
Couldn't get the plastic collar off initially. Used a dremel to cut into it and break it apart. It was going well till I saw some sparks. Whoops, went a hair too deep. Smoothed out the nick with a little sandpaper and I think we're all good.
Reassembled everything and the shifter felt taller than before. Did I screw up the reinstall? No. And yes. I put the lock nut for the shift knob on upside down so it sat higher. Not catastrophic where I needed to redo it, but a certified dumbass moment nonetheless.
Shift motion feels better now. Not perfect, and not back to day 1 of ownership, but far better. I felt less like I had to really baby it into 2nd with the transmission cold as I did before. Time will tell if that was all it took to solve my 2nd gear issues or not. Cautiously optimistic.

My optimism was short lived. I decided this morning to test the gearbox by not double clutching on my 1-2 shifts while the transmission was cold.
The results? Two grinds and one popout into neutral.
Ugh. At least the shift engagement feels nicer I suppose?
