I wish I lived in East Greenbush lol

How backed up is he? I would be willing to make the drive if he could do it in a day? Just the bumper cover that's it.

call them. Alex and Laurie are the owners. It’s a small family owned business. Tell them you know Jake.

Broke the S2000 out of storage yesterday. Makes a grinding sound on cold start. 2nd gear grind is alive and well. Steering feels heavier than I remember, and the car is super squirrely. Brake pedal feels soft.

The car seems more needy this year than ever before. I thought I was keeping up well with the maintenance on it, but a new set of tires might help with the unpredictable tendencies it is exhibiting.

Also, I'm at 43,500 miles and *still* running my original brake pads and rotors from the factory. Probably due for a replacement there.

Umm, I think @Conedodger went like 80 or 90 K miles before he replaced pads and rotors and that included autocross and spirited drives.

so check the pads to see how much life they have. And if the rotors still have enough material, you probably won’t have to spend that money, Marc.

I think brake fluid refresh should be enough if you’ve never done it before.

I checked the fluid yesterday, and the reservoir was topped off and the fluid was clear. I don't *think* it's the fluid, but I'm no expert either.

More concerned at the harsh start at startup. I'll see if I can get a recording of it.

Brake pedal feels soft.
Aashish, what ever happened to your soft pedal?

Last year Aashish thought he needed a new master cylinder. I thought he had air in the system and should rebleed the brakes.

As far as Mark is concerned, I would suck out the fluid from the master cylinder, replace and then bleed the brakes. After a few years the brake fluid absorbs water. Of course, it could be a master cylinder failure. I had that on a Honda Accord after it sat at the airport for a couple of weeks. Fortunately the ride home was at 2:00 A.M. Only the fronts went. It felt as if I still had the rear brakes.

Marc - my brake fluid was crystal clear at Billmans. But it had deteriorated as he had to clean out the reservoir and sludge came out. Just do the gravity bleed on all four corners. Follow Billmans method

Jeff - it felt fine afterwards. So I let it be.

Completely random question, does the S2000 have lights in the footwells?

I'm replacing the bulbs in the map lights, license plate light, etc. and have seen ads to put colored lights
in the footwells but I wasn't sure if they just replaced bulbs or put all new lighting in?
