Jeff Beck has just passed.
He was 78. Meningitis

Jèff performed in Finland last summer but we were unable to get tickets.
Saw him at the Palace in Albany with the Beach Boys years ago

Held my nose and bought the Birdgestone Blizzaks. I swore I'd never buy Bridgestone ever again, but I couldn't justify paying $250 more for a set of the Michelin X-Ice tires. The rest were all overpriced, other brands I wouldn't buy (Yokohama), or no-name brands.

Nokian passenger tyres were made in Russia. New plant to make them going up in Romania after pulling out of Russia. Supply should improve but will take a while. Last spring our Hyundai needed new summers plus the winters were shot too. My tire guy told me there would be a shortage of winter tyres in the fall and suggested buying now. Glad I did. New Nokian summer and winter. Plus new summer for the Chevy.

Full size, V8 and auto are the way to go for towing. Always had some regrets going to the Tacoma from the full size Chevy. Not so bad now that there isn't a large boat to tow.

The last Friday of 2022 wife and I put an order in for a Toyota BZ4X. She wants to do her part saving the planet. For a while she was leaning towards biodiesel. I even found 3 used diesel candidates for purchase. MB C class, BMW 1 series (RWD) and a 2019 Civic. The Civic was the best choice with only 34000 KM on the clock.

Test drive. First day they were available to drive.

Hoping they’ve resolved the issues with the BZ4x in Europe. As I recall they had a stop sale for those cars for a while related to some manufacturing issue related to the hubs or wheels.

Resolved. In the USA according to the GF Toyota dealership the cars were held in port until they were repaired. Not sure how that was handled over here. We got our test drive the first day the car was available to test in Helsinki.
Have to wait and see how my wife adjusts to the EV. Last summer in the states she borrowed a friend's CRV. Said that she only clucked the brake once.

Glad to hear that Rich. I’ll be interested in your driving review once you get the car. It’s nice that there are options besides Tesla

probably more than a dozen options to Tesla. The Toyota suited us the best. Range, price and size. Plus you can tow with it. There are drawbacks like the winter charging review.
The car drove nicely in the test drive. Have to wait to see how it is to live with daily. The projected delivery is June. I'm not going to hold my breath for that.

and it's clutched the brake. I have to stop trying to post with the phone. Have to see how this one comes out.

It remains to be seen if my wife adjusts to the new technology of the EV. I'm not looking forward to putting up with all of the technical crap. Other than that it is typical modern car. Can't see out of it!

I'm still not sure why people criticize my driving!

Sizeable storm with about 7-8 heavy inches of snow. Hope everyone made out ok and is safe.

National Greed sent an email saying more snow is on the way. Drive carefully and don't overdo the shoveling.

Now snow here.
no snow.
wife wanted sun, warm and a visit with the daughter.
