I've been looking for a new daily driver and after a couple months of poking around and checking out a few different cars i have chosen an accord hybrid sport to be my next vehicle. What a freaking time to be buying a new car. It's 10x the frustration of the last newer car i purchased a few years back (my wifes explorer) where i had to deal with ridiculous markups from nearly every dealer unless you financed through them. Luckily my patience paid off for that vehicle and i ended up finding one lightly used on private party. Looks like i'll be placing an order and waiting for a new car to come in, i've called 4 different dealers who have the car i want in stock and have been hit with anywhere from 2-5k "market adjustment" over msrp and some even making you buy the bs packages like paint protection or they won't sell you a car at all. One saleswoman even yelled at me when i told her i wasn't interested if the car was going to be marked up over msrp. I never thought i'd be happy to pay msrp but here i am, what a time to be alive!

And to think you’re paying that on a Honda Accord.
part of me hopes that more manufacturers move to a Tesla model for sales. Unbelievable how much cars are being marked up. Glad you found someone willing to offer a reasonable price.

that would be nice and i think because of recent events we'll see more dealers keeping low inventory and ordering vehicles for people with little to no discounts. A tesla model sales approach would be great but that will cut out delaers and i don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.

I always say it is better to be lucky than skilled. I was extremely lucky I bought my CTR before the market went into complete insanity. Same with my house - I managed to buy it right when the market dipped.
I gave some thought to selling the CTR when I saw what they were going for on the used market. I could've pocketed maybe $15k off the sale of it. But then I would have to buy something to replace it...

Good time to sell if you have a car you don’t really need and can live without. I’m sure that CTR doesn’t belong in that group.
