I hate the fact that most if not all of the new Tilke tracks run counter clockwise. Also hate the fact that they stand out like an ugly pimple on the landscape and dont blend in well with surroundings. I like some of the things he does, but for a large part I think he shamelessly repeats his mantra of designing tracks. No competition is why I think. He is also in cahoots with Bernie. Now the Silverstone re-design has been done by another firm and they want to get into the business of challenging Tilke. That should be interesting.

I think part of it has to do with Bernie forcing Tilke on the countries that sign up. I hope the firm that re-designed Silverstone ups the ante and goes after the F1 business. Reports from Silverstone say the new track is awesome, and I'm guessing you know how they tested to ensure the track re-design was up to par. The chief architect regularly drove the track in a 458 Italia to ensure work quality was good. Now I've never heard of Tilke doing that.
Must admit though, I love Turn 8 in Turkey or Diabolica as the Speed TV team calls it
