For the record, I want a hybrid performance model
I want the combustion part to pack some balls, and I do NOT want to give up the IMA, because no small 4cylinder is going to have the big torque the IMA can generate at virtually 1 mph.

My statement of it being high fuel economy was not about a specific MPG number, it was about the PERCEPTION that it is a high fuel economy car because it is a hybrid.
And, if you want comparisions, go for the real one, not the Civics you mention, go back to the GEN1 CRX-EF, that could easily pull 50mpg, and many owners got it into the 60 range on the highway, now that is what I personally consider high.

But that's just my point. It's a hybrid yet the gas miles is not that great AND it doesn't have enough power to get out of it's own way. It need either power of exceptional fuel economy IMHO. I'm not hatin', just my 2cents
I have said a million times, the CR-Z should have taken a page from the CRX history book, and come to market as an EF and an Si
The EF could have been designed to really push the MPG envelope, and the Si would have been designed for real performance
