Inside line has some figures on the Volt's battery life

http://www.insideline.com/chevrolet/volt/2...rolet-volt.html

^ click link and scroll down to the bottom. Like it or not electric cars will be part of the landscape but not for long. Hydrogen I expect will take over as soon as the Saudi's run out of oil (if Wikileaks is correct)

EDIT: Here's their latest update on the Volt
http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtests/2011...hink-green.html
the volt is not a true elctric car... it is a PHEV... plug-in hybrid... it still has a very small ICE if i remember correctly...

The ICE functions as a generator.

Not disagreeing with you, just saying it functions as a generator that powers the battery system.

You said
it still has a very small ICE if i remember correctly
and I was substantiating what you said.

oh haha i'm a moron

well...i was implying that it may help with the heating as well or at least charge the battery for it to power an electrical heatin coil..

also... jsut because something runs on electricity doesn't mean it doesn't generate heat... i'm sure the electric motor still gets very hot
