Roads are like solid white here, and, well, I want to give my carpal tunnel surgery a bit more time to heal, so no, I did not, but I saw lots of bikes out there yesterday

Too late
Plaid flannel boy will make it happen as long as he is a part of the show

Well that bodes well...I'm getting a pain flare-up in my right wrist/forearm today.

I just know I'll be a candidate for the surgery down the road...

You are fit as a fiddle compared to most 50 year olds. I'm not surprised you healed that quickly

You know what else that book stoked my interest in - the Cunningham C3's
http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/201...unningham.html

and it was sure as hell interesting to learn that Allard's could be had with your choice of engine. Made me wish I was born in the 1930's

I'd rate The Last Open Road higher than The Art of Racing in the Rain.

Those Jags are eye catching for sure Jeff. Each year I go to the Albany Auto Show on a Friday (This years show starts today). On Fridays you dont have the big crowds and needless to say when I go there around 4-5 AM, most of the pesky dealership staff has gone home. One year I got lucky and was able to sit in a Porsche 911 that was left unlocked. Last year they had an XK coupe and once I got it, the car just felt right. Granted it was an automatic, but the seating position, the view outside and the instrument panels were very inspiring.

I hope TATA can keep up the good work that Jaguar was doing while in its last days under Ford. The road test link I posted clearly identifies relaibility issues with the Jag. I hope they overcome that.

The only Jags I'd ever consider owning (and TOTALLY can not afford):
Probably had to with Ford owning both at the same time. Hopefully Jaguar gets back to the way it was. I like AM, but personally Jaguar appeals to me.

On the Top Gear note, I share your concern. Their programming may suffer or change if they want to tap the NASCAR demographic. It will just become like another NASCAR side show on Speed. I say be reverential to all racing. There is more to the US than just oval racing.
