My one concern would be maintenance...is Fiat owned by one of the major manufacturers or is
finding a place to get service done going to be a nightmare like other less common brands?
I personally wouldn't buy it because it's not something I could really use in the winter and
I already have a summer car.

I envision getting service for it to be extremely easy
I too have a summer car, in fact I have 2 of them, however, the goal is to keep the miles down on them both
Plus my enjoyment with both of them is very limited when it is raining
The role of the hot hatch will be day-to-day summer, and especially when the weather is nasty
This keeps the miles down on the truck which is used a lot in the summer when the weather is crappy
I also see the hot hatch insured all year, and used once in a while in the winter when the roads are not totally carppy
Gas cost is going to continue to rise and the Frontier is always going to be a 16-17ish mpg vehicle

My suggestion would be to test drive the paddle shifter thingy on the 695. You may like it and it will be a nice mix with the existing collection you have. Besides it's not like it is a slush box. Just lacking a 3rd pedal.
