Snowing again here...and I was hoping to break out the grill tonight.
Seems like every night the weather has been decent, I've been otherwise predisposed so I haven't had a chance to grill yet

Glad to hear surgery went well and you are recovering, Doug. It's absolutely amazing the progress they have made in various surgical procedures.
I have family members who had carpal tunnel surgery, and the procedure and recovery was much more extensive. Progress!

Done, but, I had to delete the 2nd line of the thread title, this is the only way the pinned threads seem to stand out is if they are grouped close, the new design as it is just sucks...

I agree, just amazing.
The HR person here told me what felt like a hundred times "you can't come back to work without a note from the Dr. saying it is ok, if you don't have that note I will have to send you home."
When I got in this morning, and she heard my laugh, she came running right down here. I just knew, she was totally believing I would never get a note to return to work in 2-days.
I think she was a bit miffed I actually had the note saying it was ok....

Well, it is official. Sarah didn't get any of the other positions offered here at UB, the only one offered to her was the one that paid the least and was 3rd shift.
Even then, of the 5 people they brought in for interviews, 3 of them had Master's degrees (for a position that only required a Bachelor's).
Job market is tough. She is mulling it over, but has a phone interview with another company today.

Good luck to you both
And the only thing I have to offer is this
The best time to look for a job is when you have a job
Might not be any harm in taking the position knowing full well the search for a job will continue until a job with better hours comes along
My brother-in-law, lives in Rush NY, after being out of work for about 9 months took one in Corning, NY, and that is one hell of a commute, but he just did not have a choice

Our company is using the jobless rate to their advantage. They plan to cut and replace 10% of the work force every year. The thought is they can get rid of high paid people and replace them with a lower paid, higher educated, younger workforce. We just had our performance reviews this week, and the cuts have begun.
