Will do Jeff. I’ll see you at Pitt Race. Going to do brakes on the civic on Saturday and then leave Sunday for WGI once the F1 race is over.

I'm suffering from "Not Going to the Glen Driver's Remorse"! Say hello to everybody for me - especially those in the #Me-Too Movement. Say hello too, to Freddy and Dennis.

Was at Lime Rock yesterday coaching for Track Night. I met this young person named Nick who was driving a Rio AP2. He was in my group and did rather well. He did make a visit to the Sam Posey rest area and self reported for the infringement. But otherwise was smooth and predictable throughout the event.

He said he lives in the Hartford area and is about 1.5 hours from all the Northeast tracks.

^^ I'm thinking they should start serving cold drinks in there.

Did some work on the S. I tried again to JB Weld the leak on the Canton Oil Pan and I think this time should do it. This time I drained the pan before applying the JB Weld. It seems to work on the race car oil pan leaks so it should work here.

I also installed the Modifry soft top straps. Not a hard installation, but there is a trick to it. Many false starts before I got t right.

Also torqued down the wheels to 80 ft lbs and removed the two #4 shadows on the passenger side fender using a clay bar. Left the pink unicorn for now.

Haha, re the cold drinks. I asked if he was hydrating. He said he ran out of his water supply. He still had another session. So I reached in my cooler and handed him the last water bottle I had in there. I had access to the SCCAs stash and he needed water more than I did.

How was Patroon A2?
I`d like to attend more of their events, but I had other obligations last weekend. A good showing?

Patroon event was sold out as far as I know. The paddock was packed as LRDC was there too running races for their members. I was instructing so mostly tied up with that. I had a student who was in novice but had experience and was fast. So I got him moved to Advanced, did a checkout ride and signed him off. I then had a novice student for the afternoon and he was good too.

I didn't do a lot of laps. Drove three sessions and I had students in two of those so took it easy. The only other session was the morning session where I made sure I warmed up and the car too. My plan was to save the car for NJMP that is coming up this weekend. SCCA Time Trials will be at NJMP Lightning. So doing that and then SCCA again at the end of the month at Pitt Race.

At the last race in early June, I lost a critical float bowl fastener for the SU carbs and my spare was not the right thread so not of an use. A few weeks ago, I rummaged through about fifteen pounds of rusty bolts, springs, fender washers, valves and other small parts that came with a parts buy and was successful in finding just one compatible fastener and one compatible aluminium washer.

Earlier yesterday, I checked the entry list for the Historic Festival. Seeing the list is making me want to get back into action.

So I uncovered the car, installed the carb parts and got the car running. It really sounds pretty sweet at idle. I have to figure out why it is bogging down at speed, but at least I have taken the first step!

That’s right after Pitt Race. If you are doing the historic festival and can’t make Pitt Race, I’ll be hurt, but that’s ok. I’d rather you be racing than anything else. I’ll try to bring Antara to come watch the races. They come back that weekend.
