Track Days 2023 & 2022 - Lets keep this going

Masstuning usually has black Friday sales, and I`m a big fan of the discount.
I`m currently signed up for the following
4/30 Canaan - I`ll be installing some Ohlin coilovers in the spring, and chose this as a nice, safe, slow, first outing on the new suspension.
6/17 Palmer
9/23 Canaan - For a honda only day
They didn't have any dates at Club Motorsports available with the black Friday discount, but I`d like to get up there for at least one day.
Also looking to add a limerock day at some point during the season.
Also interested in finding a day to run with S2k takeover. I`ve run into a bunch of those guys at Palmer, and i`m curious about a track day with mostly s2000s.

I signed up for the Historic Festival for Labor Day Weekend. It is supposed to be a MG VIntage Racers focus event.
In other news, I made some additional progress on the MGA engine refresh. Installed oil pan, timing chain cover and crank pulley, rear plate, flywheel, water pump. Replaced the spigot bushing on the crank.
I also fit the clutch and pressure plate, but was having problems fitting up the transmission, so took it all apart.
I want to try to use the close ratio MGB/MGA transmission with a 23 spline first motion shaft, but was unable to marry the transmission to the engine. I tried to smooth the clutch disk and tweak the splines to make the clutch slide onto the first motion shaft a little easier, but I was unsuccessful.
I came back to it this morning and finally managed to make the parts fit. But given the awkward confines of the MGA engine bay, who knows whether I will succeed when installing in the car.

Go Slo Racing Enterprises is here to pull the engine.
He got started, but is moving at a slow pace. He seems a bit under the weather. Perhaps last night was too rough for the old guy.
Work is grinding to a halt. He wants a beer and maybe to watch a little T.V. He still has to pull the oil lines, relocate the car so the engine is under the come-a'long, detatch the transmission and lift. Maybe 30 minutes worth of work - an hour at most - but it may not happen until tomorrow.
He didn't even bring his own tools! and then, I made the mistake of agreeing to pay by the hour.

Yes, I think Disgruntled has his fingers in this pie!
Go Slo Racing Enterprises was back at it again yesterday. Removed the engine. Pulled the head for use on the engine now on the stand.
Due to lack of power and suspecting cam timing, tried to evaluate the cam timing before putting into storage. According to the cam card, the lobe separating angle is 108 degrees. During the rebuild 2 years ago, I had tried to set cam timing at 105 degrees (max lift, intake #1). When measuring yesterday, cam timing seemed to be at 101 degrees. Pulled the sprockets and the timing chain. Was a new adjustable cam sprocket, but after comparing with the original, I’m pretty sure I was one tooth off. Plan to reinstall and shoot for 106 degrees. Hope I can get the car running by fall.
