Tire recommendations please ..
I would need to replace my OEM set sometime this year. Tires should be:
1. OEM size
2. Geared more towards daily and enthusiastic driving (dry and wet) and some auto-xs thrown in for good measure.
3. Does not need to do snow duty as I have dedicated snow tires.
Thanks!

Quite frankly, if you want the best street tires, go for the S02s. They were designed specifically for the car.
I have tried to save some bucks and gain some life by going to lesser tires and have found that I've gotten the same mileage while only saving modestly in overall cost. The one exception seems to be the Pirelli P-Zero Nero all-season tires I'm now running. I'm very pleased with wear and handling (I never expected them to be snows and I don't need maximum grip on the street since I have separate tires for autocross). These seem to be keepers but are a distinct step down in traction from the S02s (as are all the other ultra-high performance tires I've tried previously).
Stay with the S02s - I really believe you can't do better...

Hmm ... looks like S02, but I was hoping for a little better wet traction too. Let me look around some more ...... Anyone try the Potenza RE750 seems to come very close in dry and surpasses in noise, wet, wear and ride. Also, I need a complete set as the tires I am riding on at present was bought as a set from another member last year along with the OEM wheels and the fronts are worn too, but not as bad as the rears.
Here are the specs from the Tirerack site:
BRIDGESTONE S02 RE750

SPEED RATING WR WR
HANDLING RATING 9.00 8.60
DRY TRACTION 9.2 8.9
WET TRACTION 7.2 8.5

RIDE COMFORT 7.4 8.2
NOISE COMFORT 7.3 7.9
WEAR 5.4 8.2
TREADWEAR RATING 140 340
TRACTION RATING A AA
TEMPERATURE RATING A A

Abhi, let me see your used S-02 fronts before you get rid of them. I might be more than happy to take them off your hands so you don't have to pay to have them reclaimed.
I have a set of used rears, and am looking for a set of used fronts. If I can find a set of cheap OEM wheels I'm going to ave an extra set for whatever reason...

I've used the Bridgestone RE750s as my previous tires. Doug may remember me desribing them as feeling "plush". They're a distinct step down from the S02, as indicated by Tire Rack's Ultra-High Performance rating. They were also my basis for comparison when I went to the Pirelli P-Zero Nero all-season tires. From the tests on Tire Rack as well as my own driving experience puts the Pirellis easily as equivalent to the RE750s. Given that the Pirellis are cheaper, are lasting longer and give good wet traction as well as all-season performance in the snow, I'll take the Pirellis any day.
