Soft Top TSB
I'm not a CO but I thought I'd let everyone know if they hadn't heard already.

Fellow CO's! Please cascade this information to your communities!
Several owners and myself have tried calling Honda for resolution without vail. Well, several random phone calls later and we have hope. As of 5pm Pacific time 5/21 Honda NA has issued a TSB for 2005-2009 model years. This is for some year/vin specific cars but pertains to the tears in our tops.
While not posted online yet (should be in the next few days) the TSB #09-033 can be used to take your cars into a local dealership and repairs will be performed to prevent the tearing of your tops. The bulletin should be posted online in the next several days.
The choice of cars outside of warranty to have their tops replaced will be left up to local service managers and RDM. Those that are under warranty it should be under a case by case basis.
I got this information from Albert Chen, Regional Manager over So. Cal Parts and Service Operations. Best of luck and for those that dont have 05-09 keep calling into customer service. Honda needs to recognize they have a problem!!!

Thanks!
I will personally hand deliver this to the D'bag service manager at Lia Honda so that he wouldn't have to fabricate any more stories about soft top tears.
It's about time they saw this issue.

^ You are right Dave, but from what I've heard from Civic Si owners, a TSB is a way of acknowledging issues raised by a large group of owners and anytime an owner has requested, Honda has delivered.
A few 06-08 Si owners experienced putting the transmission into third only to have it pop back into neutral as they got their foot of the clutch. This was happening a lot to owners in the colder climes and I read several horror stories about the treatment these guys received at Honda dealerships until of course the TSB was issued and a the transmission was repaired free of cost. I keep a copy of that TSB on hand even though my cars VIN does not figure in the list.

I they will still give you crap unless your tear is in the same exact spot mentioned in the TSB. Also a tsb is not a recall.

I'm happy Honda is addressing this issue and even happier (so far) I have not had the problem.
Only issue I have at the moment is the straps on both sides are failing. Thanks to one of the guys in Metro I have a set of Modifry straps on order. Hopefully I'll be able to use my boot cover again soon
Brian got one for his Beat the other day and then asked why I didn't have one I think that means he needs to help me install the straps when they arrive
