Corey,

Aashish is in D.C. and may not be able to respond right away.

Check the map in the first post for a general idea of the route. I think he plans to move the start to the east side of the Hudson River, so you will need to check back.

Hey Corey
If you update your profile with a location where you live, I'll be more than happy to assign you an Upstate NY Badge.

Corey - The map you saw was a route we did last year.

This years route will follow that map for several sections. However the start point will be around the Rensselaer/East Greenbush area so that we avoid traffic and road construction in Troy.

Keep checking back for updates. I will be doing a pre-drive this weekend and will update the map.

Also on our way back from Bennington, I may alter the return route so we go through the twisties on Rte.2 a second time. Im sure that will make it fun for all

Could stop in the gift shop at Hemmings - would be a 15 minute stop a max.

They have a more extensive garage area where they offer tours but that would have to be pre-arranged with someone there.

I looked into it at one point when I planned this drive last year. (Think it was 09? Seems like another lifetime now).

Hemmings is a nice idea Jeff.

I'll see about calling them. I know they have a cafeteria there. Perhaps that can be our lunch stop.

Just an update. I scouted several start points yesterday. I had mixed feeling about some of the locations. Some were close to I-90 but had construction and dust. Other locations were too far inside and I want something easily accessible.

I'll make up my mind for sure once I do the pre-drive this weekend. The plan is to leave early AM with a map in hand and make notes. Will try stopping by Hemmings and enquire about a group visit. If I can't I will call them and set up an appointment for us to visit.

For lunch, I'm thinking this is the best option for us in Bennington, VT.
Madison Brewery Co
428 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201-2109

Should Ellen or the others have recommendations in Bennington, please let me know. PLEASE NOTE, lunch stop will only be in Bennington. If you have any suggestions please let me know BY NOON ON FRIDAY as it will give me time to scope out the place and finalize the route.

Yet another lunch option (Im leaning towards this)

Rattlesnake Cafe
230 North Street
Bennington, Vermont
http://www.rattlesnakecafe.com/

RATTLESNAKE DOES NOT OPEN FOR LUNCH AND IS NOT AN OPTION.

Nice route picked out, I drive that often and it can be quite fun!

I'd consider tagging along, but have obligations in CT that day.
