The route I had in mind would start approximately due south of Rochester, head southeast towards Williamsport, then over towards Scranton. Since some people might not be able to do the whole ride, we could have several stopping points along the way for joining or leaving the group.

That particular weekend is also the Historic Races at the Glen. Perhaps this is in honor of your reunion, Jerry , but even if it isn't it might interfere with an Upstate S2K get together, unless we decide to meet at the Glen???

Jerry, That's sort of what I had in mind, but in reverse. Pick up Rt 44 near Coudersport, and follow it to Rt 414 North near Jersey Shore. Take 414 and 287 to Wellsboro and the Grand Canyon. From there, head east.

There are so many possible routes, half the fun will be taking all the trial rides to put together a run suitable for the group.

The coal mine sounds very interesting too.

If you do Route 144, my favorite part is north of Renova.

I think what we need to do is find out what people think is the greatest number of miles they want to drive in one day and then determine if this is a one or two day trip. I have NO PROBLEM with a Saturday and Sunday trip, but if we do this a lot of consideration has got to go into where the "mid point" is so a Hotel/base camp can be established.

This week is hell for me at work, but the busiest time of the year is almost over, just two more weeks..... I'll check this PA thing out on my maps tonight.

I did get through the Almanac last night and I have established some date selections. Look for them later this week also. I think what might be good is to quickly select some dates, then we can build the activity into them, this way people will have more time to plan ahead.
