Default The potential for Super Autobacs

Hi all,

Im sure that most of us here have heard of super autobacs. If not, it is a japanese automotive company that sell performance and maintenance parts for almost every japanese import car. These stores are spread all over Japan and there is even one in SoCal see here. My goal is to bring one over here to the east coast, preferably to the mid-atlantic and tristate area. My goal is to install it in a location that is a reasonable distance from NYC, Phila, and D.C.(not forgetting about you maryland or virginia people ). Right now Im doing research to see if there is enough of an interest base on the east coast to get one over here. Please give me your imput, ideas, rants, etc. Thank you very much!

Cory

I (probably like most people around here) have never heard of the place before. I think that is going to be the first problem you'll have. People know of Advance Auto, Pep Boys, Autozone, NAPA, and all the other local chains for autoparts stores.

Maybe more people in a metro area would know of the store, but I still think getting the name out there is going to be tough since very few people have any clue what it is.

Seems like an interesting concept for a big metro area. Might work in the Tri-state area. I don't think it would fly in the Upstate area and I would not drive to another state for parts.

Super Autobacs is quite an impressive store for JDM parts! But in agreement with Conedodger it would do better if it was located in the tri-state area.

There should definitely be a S-Autobacs store on the east coast, no doubt about it!

It would bring down the cost of shipping to us eastern-staters. (Kinda like having more than just one Tire Rack to order from, it helps to get parts from the location closest to you. )

I'm for it!

If I ever get some free time in Cali I've always said I need to take a trip to go check out their store over there.

Consider the Toronto area too. Its a big town but there are, I'm sure, many JDM enthusiasts up there as well. Make a mention on their forum and see what kind of responses you get.

Good luck with it all.
