Do you remember what engine and tranny was in it?

It looks like a 1974, I had a yellow '73 with the Levi interior, the exterior was yellow, mine had the 258 ci I6 and a 3-on the floor
If I had spare money I would buy that car if it had 3-pedals on the floor
I loved my Gremlin-X

Awesome pics, thanks

As I recall they had three engines, 2 different sixes and one eight
I had the middle engine, the big 6, the 258

That car looks really nice, right down to the extra lower too tray below the dash and the period correct steel wheels

Boy does that bring back memories because other than the floor shifter I had, that is the exact interior I had

My +1's brother was an owner when the first local AMC dealership opened. +1 was the parts manager. I drove around in his Hornet (1973 or 1975?) 3 speed on the floor 8 cylinder for a while. (I think that's what it had) He had GREAT tires on that thing and we passed other cars that were stuck in the snow, and made it home safely during the blizzard of '78.

The seats in that thing were really low. He had to screw a block on the clutch for me so I could depress the clutch fully, and he built up the back of the seat so I could sit taller. I think I used a pillow too. LOL! They were not made for people who were only 5' tall.

His sister in law drove a Pacer and totally loved it. I still think the Pacers were weird but rather cool for it's time.

I took my road test when I was 16 in my sister's Pacer
The car looked odd for sure, but there were no blind spaces...
