is the deck not level or the siding?
The deck isn't. My future FIL made his deck completely level and now he complains that he has too much standing water on it, so when I measured the foundation and found it wasn't level, I was somewhat pleased.

However, once I got all the boards on there, I realized it is a bit more of an angle than I would have preferred. But it would have been a heckuva lot more work to lessen the slope. I'll probably make the railing a uniform height to lessen the visual impact.

I'm still trying to figure out of I should make the step down from the house level with respect to the deck or the house.
make the deck level. you've got a board every inch and a half so you won't have any standing water. your FIL probably has deck boards 6-8" wide. if you leave it that way and try to make a railing work around it and the steps the entire thing will just look cobbed together

My level deck has no standing water on it. It looks nice also given that its on the same plane as the house.

Many of the opinions and thoughts this guy had about that M3 before it was his is exactly how I feel about my Dad's S2000. His was the first one I was ever able to be "up close and personal" with. I absolutely love and cherish his car, and it's perfection in my eyes. Unfortunately because I feel this way, no other S2000 would be a substitute for it. If I am ever to personally own an S2000 of my own, I would only want his. This is probably one of the big reasons I am so protective of his. I treasure that car much more than my own.

The picture makes it look worse than it really is. The yard slopes the same way as the deck, and the roof goes that way as well. Believe it or not, we had no idea there was even a slope to the whole thing before we tore the old one down. The front step will over most of the gap in the siding. When you're standing on it, you really have no idea there is a slope at all.

I can live with it.
