WTF...how did it happen? This is f@#ked up. Make sure you call it in to their service manager and American Honda. If you get a survey give them a 0 on it. I feel bad for having referred the place to you. They must pay for this. I can vouch for the fact that your car did not have any damage on the lip when it came in. I was standing right there when you pulled in.

Mark needed to get clutch fluid flush + oil change. I asked him to go there. I was with him until 11:45 when they pulled his car back into the service bay for delivery. I left because I had promised to help JJ with some errands. This is messed up.
Mark, please share more info. I want to send this to someone else that I know over there.

I saw my car was ready and walked into the drop-off/pick-up bay. I see the OEM front lip destroyed and in two pieces hanging off the car. A service advisor approaches me and says a tech was pulling the car into the garage and hit a headlight assembly laying on the ground. This story makes no sense. How do you not see it? How fast would you have to go to smash the lip in two pieces?
I ask if the car was driven off grounds at any time. Service advisor says no. I get in the car and check the odometer--it's three miles more than when I first pulled in. Now we have a big problem. I ask to speak with the mechanic who worked on the car and I'm escorted into the garage. Mechanic comes out and says he test drove the car after the clutch fluid change to make sure everything was ok. He promises he didn't abuse the car and was not the one who broke the lip. I ask to speak with the person who drove the car into the garage and the service advisor brings out an older gentleman.
Now they change their story. He claims he was reversing the car off the lift and the lip caught on the ramp, snapping it. They're not being straight with me and I pretty much lost my cool. I tell them I think they drove my car and beat the shit out of it, bottomed out somewhere thereby breaking the lip and are now lying about it to cover it up. They deny it. I say that I'm going to pay careful attention to the way the car drives, and if I find anything alarming such as the diff making noise or clutch having less bite, they'll be hearing from me.
They tell me a new lip is on order from Connecticut for $500 and that it'll be here on Tuesday. They ask when I can bring the car in so they can install it and I say to deliver it to where I live instead. I don't want them touching my car anymore--I'll install it myself. They're going to call me when the replacement lip arrives. I brought it all my own parts for this visit and was only paying for labor--they reduced the bill by $100 because of the incident. In the end, I paid $50 to have some fluid changed and my lip wrecked.
Looking back on it, I should have asked to see a manager but didn't. Everyone lied to me to cover their own ass but I called them out on everything. Not sure if I should call a lawyer because I think they beat on my car pretty good. I'm worried about my transmission. Was going to detail the car when I got home but am not feeling too great right now. Don't even want to look at the car.

Good luck with the fix! That really bites. I've heard only good things about this dealer until now. Might not hurt to call and speak with Svc Mgr or General Mgr on Monday.
The techs and other "low end" staff would certainly lie to cover their asses. Some dealerships will take the cost of a replacement part out of the person's pay if they can pin it on someone specific. (ie Tom had to pay for a keyboard he spilled coffee on a few years ago).
They may want to do similar for the cost of a front lip.
