Damn straight. First thing I did when I moved in was shut off the heater. I can't afford to run that thing!

We rarely get to open the pool before Memorial day. It then takes up to 2 weeks before it is warm enough to swim. (We don't have a heater.) If I were you, I'd use the heater to get a jump on the temperature, then you can turn it off and keep it covered with a solar cover.

Nah, I always grow one for the winter. Keeps my face warm. I get rid of it when I pull the S out of storage in the spring.
