October 11, 2014 Rensselaer-Columbia Drive
Seeing that we have not had a drive in a long time, I think its time for us to revisit the Rensselaer-Columbia drive.
DATE: Saturday, OCTOBER, 11, 2014 (Rain Date 10/18, which is the following weekend)
START TIME: 10:00 AM (Please plan to arrive by 9:45 AM with a full tank of gas)
START LOCATION:
East Greenbush Town Library - 10 Community Way, East Greenbush, NY 12061
Please be mindful of the surroundings and refrain from doing anything that will draw attention to us.
ROUTE STOPS:
1. Chatham Brewing Company (Should Time Permit), 59 Main Street, Chatham, NY 12037
2. Coyote Flaco, 6032 New York 9H, Claverack, NY 12534
3. EG Town Library (Drive conclusion)
PLAN OF ACTION:
- Leave EG Town Library parking lot and head towards West Sand Lake and Tabby Rd.
- Back past Glass Lake and on to Chatham
- Stop at the brewery for a tasting
- Leave brewery for lunch at Coyote Flaco
- Leave Claverack, and take Rte. 66 back to the EG area
NOTE:
- Bring radios if you have them (I need one )
- Always obey speed limits and more importantly please drive within your limitations. This is not a race, but a relaxed cruise to enjoy the fall beauty in the area.
- Plenty of people that we will be sharing the road with - other cars, bicyclists, and joggers. Lets be respectful to all and to each other.

Wait a minute! I'm racing the MGA at Lime Rock that day - at least in the A.M. But word on the street, that this will now be a full two day event with the Lime Rock Club, so maybe it should be a destination. See below:
VSCCA JULY newsletter: There are a number of VSCCA members that lament the Fall Finale’s
abbreviated schedule of Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. This year, thanks to
the assistance of Bob Melhado, Jean Petryshyn, Steve Chisolm and Georgia Blades
(GM of LRP), we will experiment with a move back to a full two day event, sharing the
track with the LRP Club members. Muffled racing begins Friday morning at 9 AM, with
load in Thursday evening after 5 PM. For one, this schedule will allow some the
opportunity to avoid packing it up as a result of little time to effect minor repairs on
unexpected issues that might arise over a race weekend.

J/K, I hope you enjoy that race weekend and should the event get postponed for any reason, then I hope to see Nancy and you, the following Saturday.

^ Do try and make it Dave.
Any and all are welcome. This is a relaxed seasons end drive.
Did over 100 miles today with my FIL in tow. I think I may have burned my bridges with him . Will need another days drive to explore some more roads before I finalize the route and stop for lunch.
I did stop at Chatham Brewing Company and tasted some of their awesome brews. I doubt we will be able to stop there though. It could be Coyote Flaco (as in drives past) OR Sports Grill once we head back to the Albany area.

plan to drive another set of roads this weekend. Supposed to rain on Saturday and since the autocross is not a points event I'm likely to skip it in favor of route planning.

We would like to get at least one drive in this year with others.
We'll plan on it A2.
Thanks for your efforts!
Bob and Ruth.
