New to racing, where/when to go?
Hey all,
I've had my s2k a year now and this summer i wanna get into just amature racing, lime rock, autocross etc... Can anyone post some dates/locations (pref around albany area) of some events, and what is needed helmet ans such. Currently all i have done is some nukabe handling parts. Also if you have the registration sites on hand that'd be good :-).
Thanks!

Here is the North East Division SCCA Autocross schedule:

I think MoHud would be the region for Albany area events. Click on the MoHud link and it should take you to their website.
A Snell 1995 or newer rated helmet is required for SCCA autocross. It can be an "M" or motorcycle rating, but if you buy a helmet, you may want the "SA" rating which will be accepted at any racetrack. Most regions have loaner helmets available for autocross. A great way to try different sizes, and it'll save you some money if you decide autocross isn't really your thing.
Here's another link that may be helpful:

I would show you the ropes, but I'm in Rochester.

Check AKD SCCA site also. Heard that Griffis and Gore are to host events again. HPDE check SCDA1.com and PDA.com or go to the tracks web site and check scheduale. S2KI's Fall Colors event will have 2 track days this Columbus day weekend at NHIS. Just for Honda S-2000's. Nor-Easter event will have an auto-x just for the S also. We will have 4 auto-x events in Binghamton this season and the RPI team and midHo gang usually comes down RT88 to play.
