Yes and no
Yes- that car is being displayed at a car show
No- that car is not just some maybe concept thing
Hyundai Veloster
http://www.hyundaiusa.com/veloster/
My local dealer had no clue as to when they might start showing up in the showroom
Sort of like the Fiat 500, I just need to see one in person first
Once I see one I will then know if it is a maybe or a no
I'm still very intrigued by the one door on the driver's side, and the 2-doors on the passenger's side

i love 3 door (not hatch) models. when the brought it out on the 1997 saturn sc2. i was skeptical... but then i saw how easy it was to get in the back seat... which on my '96 it is not.

Veloster Turbo is going to be at the NY Auto Show
208 hp and 195 ft-lbs

I wonder what they might do to the details to make the turbo different looking than the regular

Actually I liked the Insight. For the price you can buy it at, its great value and I'd rather drive that than a Prius.
Econ was very stifling on the open road. It has its benefits in stop and go traffic. Normal makes the car feel like the acceleration on my 1992 Mazda 626 - as in I'd get on an on-ramp, floor it, say a prayer and cross my fingers hoping the car would get up to speed by the time the ramp ended and traffic would let me in.
Sport mode, the car comes alive and is a lot of fun. I did not spend too much time going over the other details. I liked it. The shifting was top-notch as was the suspension. The tires are poor and need to come off. If I bought this car, I'd get the 17" wheels and install RS-3's or something similar on it.
Car is a lot of fun driving around corners and felt so much lighter than the Si. If it only had a little more power it would be an awesome toy. Even so, with the right tires, the car would be phenomenal in AutoX.
I like how the engine instantly fires up without the cranking when you turn the key. Not too happy with the lurch when you clutch in and put the car in gear. Maybe that will get better in the future.
BTW the sales guy showed me the orders he had coming in from Honda. No Si in the mix for the next couple of months. He figures it has to do with the fact that the engine comes from Japan (Tochigi).
