I haven't had a plate on the front since the purchace of the car in 02'...I live in a small town south of the city of Buffalo..and have yet to be pulled over by either the village or town PD.
By the way, welcome to Buffalo....although the city has declined...mainly due to our inept goverment officials (www.freebuffalo.org) ..you will find it still has many varied activities to offer....

I haven't had my plate on for about 2 years now. Haven't been pulled over yet.

A bunch of us went through a roadblock on one of our cruises here, remember that Doug? There were 4 of us, none of us had a plate on if I remember. The police let us all through, they did remind us that we needed plates though!

I think that pretty much sums up all of Upstate NY

Although I agree the S looks better without a front plate, this area has plenty of new trooper recruits that look for any reason to hand out tickets. This winter they were issuing them for things like snow/dirt on your plate. So I just stick mine on the front and avoid the hassel.

You should find plenty to do in Western NY, I grew up about 25 miles south of Buffalo and try to get out to visit my family a couple times each summer.

Are you going to be living in the city or one of the suburbs?
Thanks, looking in Clareance at the moment. We are going to look at houses on the 16 of April, cross your fingers we find one on the first try.

Thanks, I grew up there so it is not that new. I then lived in Rochester through College and Moved to DE about 4 years ago. I swore to everyone I would never move back, o well, I guess I was wrong.

Front plates are like baseball to me. I currently have one strike so I still am running no plate. When I strike out I will break down and put it back on...
How much was the fine for your first strike?

Not sure if I am going to drive my S into work every day (it is right in the middle of buffalo on Broadway).

I hate having the front plate and was so glad when I could take it off my other cars when I moved away. The S was just not designed to run a front plate.

What about putting the plate behind the grill????

Clarence is nice. A little rural, but close enough to what you need. Tends to be a little flat, but rolling hills and nice, windy roads are less than half an hour to the south. Watkins Glen, in the heart of the Finger Lakes, is only a couple of hours away. Others have mentioned Toronto and Cleveland, and the Great Lakes. All of it is good. There's lots of stuff to do, all the time.

Clarence has great schools (if you have kids). We have wonderful summers and falls. The winters are not as rough as you might think, but they're long. Spring is short, snapping right into summer.

If you land here, look for me in my '03 Silverstone/Red.

Thanks, we start house shopping next Friday through the weekend. Most all of the houses are in Clarence. I like rural. I would love to get 4 or 5 acres. The S will not be comming up for several weeks so I will have to drive my winter beater till I can get her up. Looking forward to it.

Strange question, does anyone know if Sprint gets good reception in Clarence?

Thanks

John
