I'm curious, how many of us here burn with the 2-wheel passion?

For myself I got into motorcycles when I was 25. Nobody in my family had ridden but I spent my youth on a pedal bicycle and at 25 I had an opportunity to get a superb little bike for virtually nothing, so I jumped on the opportunity. In that first year I put over 8,000 miles on the bike, that's a LOT for a season as far as I'm concerned.

That 1st bike was a '73 HONDA CB350/4, the CB350 was a common little bike, but it was just an in-line 2 cylinder, not that special. The /4 meant mine was the in-line 4, and the little thing had a 13k redline, a very special little bike. In total I put almost 20,000 miles on it before I sold it off. Then when I was about 30 I bought the '85 Nighthawk 650, it was a big step up for me, but I'm so glad I did it. I bought the Nighthawk with 5,000 miles, a flat front tire and a dead battery for $750, what a freegin deal. I'm now up to 50,000 miles on it, so in my some 23-years of riding I have done between 64,000 and 65,000 miles on 2-wheels.

I got my first motorcycle when I was 15 and have logged about 200,000 kilometers on two wheels.

Experience since I moved here to the US - not much save attending the MSF program to get a licence and test riding the Yamaha V-Max.

But as I think about it, if the vehicle is pristine, then why not keep it where it can b admied by fellow Hondaphiles

I'm very serious. Space for me is a limiting factor. I just can't see how I can take on a new to me VFR and still keep the Nighthawk, something has to go, space is limited.

The other thing I thought about, as Bob Longue Motorsports (the museum) is also a motorcycle dealer, maybe I can work some kind of barter, they find me a '99-'00 VFR and sell it to me for a deal of a price, and in exchange I award them a new piece for their collection.

The only other thing would be for me to totally drain the gas so I could put it in the house, but it would have to go into the basement, and be completely covered up, thus not seen. I just can't keep it, and selling it seems wrong, unless I could find a collector.

I dont have a bike now, but have loved the V-Max since the time I rode it. Very docile at low revs until ofcourse you unleash the demons it hides.

If I were to buy a bike it'd probably be a Honda 919 or maybe something small like a Buell blast or equivalent.

If I had unlimited funds, I woul dstill be interested in a VFR, but for sure not a brand new '09, silly damnn thing only comes in black, no way!

I'm the owner of a 1985 Nighthawk 650 (CB650SC) that just happens to be in amazing condition, and other than tires, fluids and brakes is 100% original. I'm trying to find a museum interested in taking on this item for their collection.

The fairing which is not original can easily be removed, and will leave no visible marks as to how it was installed.
The bike by the way is fully functional, I just bought a new battery for it and am about ready to replace the front rotors, I just located a beautiful original pair on ebay.
