just got a speeding ticket!!! :(:(
hey, i just got a speeding ticket for going 80 in a 55mph zone along the 190 south. My first speeding ticket
the officer didn't include the amount i have to pay on the ticket.....does anyone know how many points and what kind of fine i'm looking at?

i believe it's a 4 point ticket. i'm not sure about the fine tho. sorry to hear about your misfortune. hopefully you can get it reduced. good luck.

its tough for me to control my speed in new york state!
i drive in from Toronto, along the QEW, where its common to drive up to 120-130 km/h. (about 70-80mph)Cops don't pull you over for doing 120 unless you're wanted for something else!
then i cross over the boarder, and i gotta go 55mph! ok, i know my defense is weak, but it is still annoying as hell.

This is a 6 point ticket!!!
I got nabbed by a State Tropper with laser 81/55. 6 points.
BUT - I hired an attorney and got it reduced to zero point, non-moving violation,
paid $250 for the attorney and $100 fine. BUT NO POINTS!!!
Like jguerdat says, V1 is a nice thing to have. I had it when I got the laser ticket, but laser is hard to detect, oh well.
oh wait, I just saw you live in Toronto, hmmm that changes everything. I know nothing about Toronto's traffic laws. And it's not legal to use a radar detector.

I work in Rochester...but commute fairly often back to T.O.
Radar detectors are illegal in canada, and besides...all my buddies with radar detectors still get tickets! (i'm not convinced that they actually help....)
Diskoe, how much was your fine? I found out my insurance doesn't increase even though I got busted for speeding since it is my first speeding ticket....so if paying $350 just gets me out of points which aren't increasing my insurance rates anyways, i think i'd rather just keep the points and pay the ticket which i'm sure would be cheaper than $350.
On an unrelated note, I am test driving an s2000 on friday
