How long did your OEM battery last?

A battery is a fickle beast.
I just had to replace one on my John Deere backhoe/tractor.
Out using it all day, parked it for a couple of minutes to talk to a neighbor, went to start it..... DEAD.
Tractor was OUT on the north forty, so it was a long walk.
Special battery made only for this application of course and JD dealer only.....
200 later and a long isometric excercise battery walk and I'm dieseling again.
This was on a 4 year old hoe, and the batt is connected 24/7 on a battery tender.

Well here is my final answer...
2002 to 2010 is 9-seasons
Technically then my S2000 battery lasted 8.5 years
I replaced it on Saturday, the CRX-Si is once again happy
I got an Energizer from Sam's it was less than $65
I did not shop around, I just ran to the 1st store that could offer help other than Sears
Mr. Deals will cringe, but I got to drive the car on Saturday, and that was the goal
8.5-years to me is darn good, I believe more than ever the battery out of the car and into the warm house on the trickle charger is the way to go for longevity

In my case, I have 3-4 batteries to deal with, so I find it easier to put them all on a workbench. I rotate the tender to a different battery weekly.
Once everything is in for the winter I'll have 3-batteries in a row on the little battery bench I made, and the charger sits on the lower shelf
My rotation method is hook up to a battery on Friday when I come home from work, and unhook it on Monday before I go back to work
The following Friday I just move the cables down to the next bettery
And I do this rotation almost all winter
This winter the little bench is going to look a bit empty because the S2000 battery is the same size as the VFR's

I'm still on the original, which means I'm approaching 10 full years. I've never had a battery last so long in any car, boat, flashlight... Then again, my S2000 remote battery is the original, as well.
Uh, oh. Now I've gone and jinxed myself.
