How long did your OEM battery last?

It's just something he has never bothered with. We got six seasons out of the battery already.....
If I only had one vehicle/battery to worry about, I would leave the battery in the car and just hook a tender up to it. In my case, I have 3-4 batteries to deal with, so I find it easier to put them all on a workbench. I rotate the tender to a different battery weekly.

A battery is a fickle beast.
I just had to replace one on my John Deere backhoe/tractor.
Out using it all day, parked it for a couple of minutes to talk to a neighbor, went to start it..... DEAD.
Tractor was OUT on the north forty, so it was a long walk.
Special battery made only for this application of course and JD dealer only.....
200 later and a long isometric excercise battery walk and I'm dieseling again.
This was on a 4 year old hoe, and the batt is connected 24/7 on a battery tender.

Lainey...for what it's worth, as long as the battery isn't being drained between drives over the winter, you guys shouldn't worry about unhooking it.
However, if the car is going to sit for longer than a month, I really recommend unhooking the batt. These batteries are not designed to be deep cycled, and allowing the battery to drain too low can severely degrade it's life.

No, that was directed at me. I post here from time to time, but apparently some folks haven't realized that. I've had an upstate badge for quite some time.
