good price for a leftover new 2004?
Hey guys remember me?
My hunt for a s2000 was temporarily put on hold when Delphi filed chapter 11 & my job status wasn't looking too good. Well I since moved on, got a new job & I'm back in the market.
Believe it or not there are still a couple NEW 2004 S2000 out there. In your opinion what would be a good price for such a car?
In order for me to get it I would have to trade in my current car which has a KBB.com trade in value of $16,500.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Mark,
I don't think places are going to take that much bigger of a bath on a leftover '04 than a leftover '05. Not enough to make up the difference the year will make in depreciation. There was a used '04 floating around my area with 3k miles on it for $24,995, i'll see if I can find it. Let me know if I can be of any help. I know we have a leftover '05 on the lot that we would like to move. gjohnson@keeler.com

There are many dealers with new 2005s and willing to sell below invoice prices now.
I know a dealer that's willing to sell 2006 for $100 over invoice even... only if they gave me a good value on my tradein... still negotiating...
sorry to hijack the thread but..
Anyone here familiar with dealer tradein? I have a car that has tradein value of ~$28k according to KBB but dealer would only pay 23k or less!!!
Edmunds' tradein for my car is ~23k
NADA 26~27k...
Cant decide which value is right for the trade...
Galves(?) from dealer says its near 23~24k... but i know dealers are selling this car for 30k or over... that's used...
if they want to pay me 23k and sell it back for 30k+.. that's 7k+ profit for the dealer.. what bunch of scumbags!@

Fall Winter is a great time to buy but a bad time to sell or trade. HT Guy has some smoking deals in Cleveland, OH. Sold a new 03 for $24k. Has 04's and 05's will sell 06 around 31-32k.
