How often are they building new roads? Gotta believe the existing map would be pretty accurate for a long time.
BTW...just ordered the Garmin 255W from Amazon for $99.
I agree, new roads don't just pop out of the ground every day, and when they do they are in housing tracks, and that is not where my priorities lie...

Is that for a refurbished one, I was not seeing new 255w for under $100

It says street names. So you dont have to look at the unit again & again to see where you have to turn.

Also if you saved my address with my name. It will say "arriving at Aashish on the left".

I've set it up to not irritate me. It tell me 2 miles ahead where I need to turn so I can plan to be in the proper lane. Then it will tell me 0.2 miles before I turn and right when I'm at the point I need to make the turn.

Needless to say it comes with a number of voices and you can pick from (if I remember accurately) 3 female and 3 male voices with an american, british, and australian accents. Too bad they dont have a Japanese accent for you yet

Congrats!
I just don't have the confidence to do the factory refurbished, but I am thinking 255W

What the heck difference is there between 255w and 260w?
Garmin does not even list the 260w on their site...

^ as long as it has the features you need, I'd buy it. My Nuvi has multimedia stuff that I dont really care for. It is a stellar GPS and that is what I like about it.

Even if its discontinued, you can buy maps for it. so no biggie

The comparision was going well...
The 260W was down a few features that were not important to me, and up by anothe hour of battery life, but, the 255W has the Where am I? feature, and the 260W does not, so I say the 260W lost...
