FTR we have both you mention and the built in one in Rose's cCRV blows away any Garmin hands down.
For the price GARMIN is better than most OEM systems. Infact Honda offered it as an accessory on the last gen FIT and Toyota offers/offered the same on the FJ Cruiser.

Hey, since we're talking about GPS units, how do you orient your map? Do you use 3D, track up, or north up?
I always use north up because I like to glance at my map every now and then as I drive and I want to always have my north to be up and the arrow simply rotates as the car turns. I let the direction of the arrow tell me what direction I'm going. I find track up and 3D to be pretty confusing.

Garmin Nuvi 205W.
Bought at BBuy not 4 months ago for 79.95
My fourth GPS since 02. Gave the old ones to the kids or wifey.
Does everything the old ones did and I don't need anymore features..

FTR, I'm speaking based on the systems I've seen.

Interesting...
Just looked up the difference between 205w and 255w. 205w doesn't come with Canada maps.

Well I'm off
I cut up an actual size model out of foam core so I can do a test fit
The unit must fit into the space on the top of my dash
The pocket at the very top of the dash...

Doug, haven't read this whole thread and I have to run. My wife has a Garmin Nuvi 750 that I bought her for Christmas 2 years ago. Can load maps for europe etc. Otherwise does just about anything you want, including waypoints.
Bought it (and my handheld a year earlier) from Adventure GPS in Decatur, Alabama which had the best prices at the time - They have a web site (not the best) but their number is 256-351-2151.
How do I remember these things? Still have the box on my desk.
