After I start to use it for a while on the bike if I find my use is greater than the battery I too will have to add the power cord, or, you will have to do it again, but on my bike, and I'll bring the beer.

I don't think I'll have the same distractions. I played with it in the car and found I didn't even look at it. I would glance at it when I heard the voice prompt to see the upcoming turn.
I want it for trips like I did in NC last year. I had a particular area or set of roads that I wanted to explore. I had Google printouts in my map holder on my tank bag that I referenced to get to the area. Once there, I ignored them and explored. I think the GPS will be better, in that I won't be trying to read a printout while riding, I can just listen for the voice prompt.
