Depending how my time management works out this 1st trip just might be the window suction cup mount in the middle of the truck, as low as it will go. If I have time I'll try the mod to the stand I got.

QUESTION-
Is my GPS stupid or do I have to set the time?
I figured it would know the time like my phone knows the time, but this thing is 13 minutes fast.

One thing for sure, the Where Am I? function is going to be flat out awesome on the motorcycle. The Nighthawk has a range of only about 165 miles, nothing spells fear like being out in the middle of nowhere, and not having a clue in what direction to go to get gas.
Once while riding in the Adirondacks I had to knock on a farmer's door and beg to buy a gallon of gas, I was so thrilled he had both a diesel and a gas tank...

You should set the time. Get into settings and enjoy yourself. Garmins are fairly easy to use

So, when you have a route up, at the bottom there is your speed on the left, MENU in the middle, and a time on the right. Is that time being displayed not the time of day? Could this thing have just updated itself to the right time since I turned it off when I got into work? Strange and confusing...

I think time comes from the satellites. I think you can change your prefered zone, but the hrs min sec comes from above.

Memory card slot is so you can listen to music or view photos on your GPS.
Yea, right, like that's going to happen...
