I ordered this for the VFR. The guys on VFRD say you throw away the u-bolt and the holes in the mount line up with the forward gas tank bolts.

I just can't imagine having a GPS on a bike, just can't imagine...

^ My Nuvi has 3 modes:
1. Car
2. Motorcycle
3. Walk

I've only ever used it in my car. Not sure if its behavior changes when you set it to a different mode or if there is any real change.

I can't imagine how the modes would change it...
The only difference I could imagine would be battery operation instead of 12V for #3

^ And battery operation is how I will use it on the bike, when I'm taking a break, sitting off of the bike someplace relaxing

I'm getting really excited about this GPS...

I figure I can mount this with velcro right on the top dash pocket on the frontier

I'm also thinking of cutting a 1/2" thick piece of pine to fit into that pocket, and then mount the base to the pine, this would allow me to take it in and out without leacing velcro in the pocket when the unit is not there.

Velcro is a good idea. I used to have one of those mounts, but agressive driving always caused it to fly around, sometimes sliding right out the passenger window and I had to reel in the cord ! Luckily, the GPS was still at the end.
I stopped using the bag mount when hard accel would cause it to come at me through the steering wheel, so I moved it to the middle, and it came crashing down once on brisk accel on the shift knob.
Windsheild mount suction cups for the last 4 years. No prob.

I figure that top pocket should work well, it's about 1" deep, once I cut a piece of wood for there that should hold it down, it is after all the truck, it does not quite get the g-loads the cars do
