I've only gone to the driving range several times when people that golf have offered to teach me how to swing. Never been out on a full course ever.
But if there is golf involved will there be time for a drive? I may be in for the drive, drinks and maybe the driving range

I think I'm in the same boat as Aashish. I enjoy a good bout at a driving range where I don't have to be accurate. On the golf course, I am terrible and would slow down a more serious group.
Not saying I wouldn't be interested, but that I'd be a less-than-ideal partner for those who are actually competent at the game.
